Driven Piles and Grout Consolidation
Client: Powergen Renewables Ltd
Works Contractor: M G Construction Ltd
M G Construction Ltd were responsible for the design and construction of piles and grout consolidation of the foundations to wind turbines on the remote site.
Grout was injected to a depth of 20 metres to consolidate potentially unstable coal seams on the Durham site to enable driven piles to terminate on rock overlying this coal. |
 |
| A relatively shallow depth to rock on the Hartlepool site resulted in a combination of driven piles and rock-socketed piles being used to provide the compression and tension requirements of the foundation base. |
