Interlocking Sheet Pile Coffer Dams

| This contract required the formation of two rectangular cofferdams each 25 metres x 5 metres x 8 metres deep either side of the Whitecart River in Paisley. |

| As the cofferdams needed to be constructed partially in the river, the extended reach of our excavator mounted Ramtec hammers meant that the piles could be installed without the use of expensive trestle guide systems - the clutching of piles being carried out by an operative working from a mobile platform (cherry picker). |

Support to the piles driving excavation and construction of new bridge abutment was provided by a proprietary whaling system installed as the excavations proceeded.
Upon completion of the works, the piles can safely be withdrawn using an extractor, again mounted on an excavator. |
